Mucus Elimination Recipes!

The recipes I have chosen to share with you contain ingredients that are alkalizing, all vegan and are intended to help you reduce/eliminate mucus from your body.

Why should you eliminate mucus from your body?

Let me explain! Mucus is actually a simple result of our body trying to protect itself. The body produces mucus as a protective mechanism very much like tears and saliva. Mucus contains an enzyme that helps break down pathogens we encounter through the environment, our food, or when our immune system thinks it is under attack. This is why allergic foods produce mucus, and why when you’re sick you produce even more. So while it’s deemed unfavorable, it is actually beneficial up to a point. The concern is if we consistently produce mucus all the time our immune system constantly thinks it is under attack and that’s when it becomes problematic.

So, if we are producing too much mucus we need to think about what we are ingesting that is triggering the reaction. For many people, it’s the BIG 8 allergenic foods: dairy, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, & soya; although gluten is not considered as one of the BIG 8 allergens, it is still a cause for concern for some. For others, it might be an autoimmune disease or a simple zinc or good-bacteria deficiency.

The first step is to find out the offenders, remove them, and then go on a mucus elimination diet.
